Los Angeles: Singer Katy Perry wants to take a break from her career to spend more time with her husband Russell Brand and start a family.

The 27-year-old popstar has informed her managers about taking the break after final concert of `California Dreams` tour is wrapped, reported Ace Showbiz.

After spending almost the whole 2011 on the road, the `One That Got Away` singer wants to be home.

Earlier this month, Perry said in an interview that she would love to have children.

"I think that`s one of the reasons you get married, especially to the person that you marry. You think, `That person is going to be a good partner, a good parent."

When asked if she wants "a lot of kids," she replied, "If it doesn`t hurt the first time... I`ll keep popping them out," she said.

Perry will close the extended North American leg of her tour on November 23 by holding a concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Despite the hiatus rumor, she actually still has two more scheduled gigs. One is set to take place in Jakarta, Indonesia on January 19, 2012, and the other will be held in Pasay, Philippines on January 22 the same year.

But she took some time off her hectic schedule to hit the studio with none other than hip-hop mogul Kanye West. And together the two stars have created what they hope will be this spring's new club anthem, "ET."

It will definitely be interesting to hear what Kanye and Katy have come up with as the two musicians belong to very different genres. Katy likes pure pop tunes and often record with producers who also work with the likes of Britney Spears.

West on the other hand drops more heavy-hitting tracks that become immediate hits in the hip-hop circuit. Katy seems sure and certain that their collaboration will hit the charts as she tweeted:

Russell Brand has revealed that he would rather give up money than love.

The reformed ladies’ man, who wed singer Katy Perry last October, said that marriage has changed his life for the better.

He told US magazine Redbook: 'If you're wild, like a wild animal, marriage won't contain you. I think that's how a lot of people get into trouble. I think I was ready for it.

'I'm discovering how lovely permanence and building an ongoing relationship can be, rather than always thinking, 'What's next?'

'I would never give up love; I'd definitely give up money.”

The Tempest star added: 'I feel quite lucky – now that I'm married, I have this great love and partnership in my life that is the most important thing to me. I also happen to be married to a girl who is quite a lot of fun.'

Living on planes

 

Katy Perry is reportedly 'living on planes' to make time to see hubby Russell Brand.

The 26-year-old singer is on a world tour while Russell is making movies in America, and a source told the Daily Star that she is doing everything that she can to make things work.

'Despite working her butt off on tour, Katy's really making a huge effort to ensure she sees him as much as possible – even if it means she's basically living on planes,' the insider said.

'They said they would never go over a week without seeing each other as part of their 'marriage rules'.

'But with her world tour and his filming it's proving difficult.

'It'll depend on how solid they are as a couple whether they get through this tricky time.'
